The Lord who takes pleasure in His people “adorns the humble with salvation.” We can do nothing to save ourselves. No good works, no efforts of our own, could ever be sufficient to establish for ourselves a right relationship with God.

Jesus gets you because He’s got you, not just as a friend, but as a brother, a fellow child of the loving Father.

But when it comes to trusting in Jesus, we can’t make that happen by our own decisions and choices. We need the Holy Spirit to carry us to Jesus, like the spiritual babies we are

Have you done everything you wanted to do? Probably not. But you are in Christ, who died for you and rose again to give you new, everlasting life. You are a child of the Father, who will use you—even you!—to further His kingdom
