He is the Maker of the universe and all its endless galaxies, yes. He keeps track of all the stars. But He also keeps track of all the atoms—every cell in your body, every word you speak. And these things matter to Him. He cares.

We long for the day of Jesus’ return, Until that great day, we are called to remain faithful—and to look up! The rage of the nations is another reminder that our Lord is coming soon,

Like a horse that bucks off a thief, the natural creation comes undone under our rebellion. The walls come tumbling down. God, in His judgment, is leveling the ground for everyone to clear the way for something new.

What can overcome fear? Nothing but hope. And this is our hope—that our redemption is drawing near. Just as He promised, Jesus will return, will see us face to face, and will put a complete end to all the evil we have spent our lives suffering. Instead,

“The kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and gathered fish of every kind” (Matthew 13:47). He called His first disciples to fish for people, to cast the Gospel net and, by the power of the Spirit, gather people into the kingdom of God.

The shrub can reach eight feet tall or more. Its appeal is in its fire-engine red foliage every fall. It blazes over every other planting on our landscape, demanding attention and wowing its onlookers by its beauty.

We have done nothing—He has done everything. And so we will inherit the earth because of Jesus—yes, and forgiveness, joy, and new life forever as the people of God.
