And then He took it all to the cross and nailed it there. But this time it’s not like the donkey—the Lord isn’t going to return this loan to us. It’s gone for good.

Paul is encouraging us to get ready for the day of salvation—the day when Jesus returns and all evil is gone. That will be a celebration better than any wedding—the day we see our Savior face to face.

And yet God says that “the mountain of the house of the LORD shall be established as the highest of the mountains”—if not literally, then certainly figuratively. It will become the center of all nations, and people everywhere will come to hear the Lord’s Word and obey it.

We are baptized. We have been buried with Christ and raised to new life through faith in His Name. We have been born again and we have a new hometown. Birth and baptismal certificates will list a certain location as the place of birth, but as brothers and sisters in Christ we can now claim the heavenly Jerusalem as our home

So, when we look upon Jesus, it is the image of God our eyes behold, when we listen to the Words of Jesus, it is the voice of God our ears hear. Jesus is God begotten from the substance of the Father before all ages

Have you noticed how people stop mentioning the name of the family member you lost? How they censor their conversation about your major illness, or job loss, or divorce?

He was there before anything else was, from all eternity, and the Father created all things for Him. Even today, Jesus holds everything together and keeps it going, day by day and minute by minute.

He is the Maker of the universe and all its endless galaxies, yes. He keeps track of all the stars. But He also keeps track of all the atoms—every cell in your body, every word you speak. And these things matter to Him. He cares.

We long for the day of Jesus’ return, Until that great day, we are called to remain faithful—and to look up! The rage of the nations is another reminder that our Lord is coming soon,
