A man believed to be in his late 30s popularly known as “Jah Love” has died after participating in a drinking competition on Sunday morning at a popular joint in Tamale.

The competition was organized by drunkards association in the area.

The deceased,  is a habitual drunkard who jumps from one drinking spot to the other according to those who know him.

Jah Love suddenly collapsed just after he finished drinking three gallons of ‘Akpeteshie’, a locally brewed gin.

He was rushed to the hospital for treatment and discharged the same day after this risky and needless competition.

His condition however began to fail again Monday morning which prompted his family to send him back to the hospital.

A family source said Jah Love responded to treatment whiles on admission until about 1pm when he died

This is why the bible said:

Proverbs 20:1 – “Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise

Ephesians 5:18 — “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit

Let us always read the word of God and apply it to our lives so we do not engage in some of these activities. We must always ask for the Holy Spirit to guide us in our ways and believe in God.
