The more we give the more we have

Give freely and become wealthier; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed (Proverbs 11:24-25). What enriches us as Christians? Is it the knowledge we have about salvation or the holy acts we perform?  Proverbs 11:24-25 teaches a profound message about what God desires for us to be. We cannot give what we do not have. Our riches are the good news shared through kind acts inspired by Christ Himself, and whenever we give, we build intangible wealth that material possessions cannot match. The work of God is not only serving in a church, it is serving others who need help. It is out there, all around us and right next door.

Share your food

This year the Lutheran Media Ministry’s annual Soup Kitchen outreach is happening at Seduase and Sasaasi in the Greater Accra Region from 7th to 11th December 2022. This event is packed with various activities; evangelism, musical night, cooking and sharing meals with the community, and donating clothing. And do not forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God (Hebrews 13:16). This December we remember to share with others during a time of economic hardship and we continue to follow the example of Christ.

Remember to do good

Last year’s event was held at Mafi Agorve in the Volta Region and over 500 people, mainly women and children, were served hot meals and drinks. The smiles on the faces of the children were refreshing. Join the train and give to those who need it, be enriched by sharing even if it is just food. Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help (Isaiah 58:7).
