If you or someone close to you is battling cancer, you know that dealing with the illness isn’t easy. The
emotional stress can leave you feeling drained and the aggressive treatment process may leave you
    physically pained.
But know that you are not fighting this battle alone. Friends and family may not fully grasp the
situation, but God does. So rely on His word.

Here are 7 verses to increase your strength and comfort you in your fight against cancer:

    1. Deuteronomy 31:8. (NIV)- “The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will
never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” In this time of
difficulty, remember that God is always with you. He will never abandon you in your time of need.

    2. Psalm 23:4. (KJV)- “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear
no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” Even in life-and-death
situations, God is looking out for you. Let His presence be your comfort when you’ve hit rock
    bottom.

    3. Psalm 34:18. (ESV)- “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in
spirit.” This scripture piggybacks on Psalm 23:4: God is always with you, especially when life
    seems to be against you.

    4. Romans 8:37. (ESV)- “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who
loved us.” Speak victory over your circumstances—and truly believe that God has given you
    the win.

    5. Psalm 119:76. (NIV)- “May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to
your servant.” God promises to be with us when we need Him most. Your life is in the hands of
the One who is the embodiment of love. Trust Him to sustain you.

    6. Psalm 46:1. (NIV)- “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Rely
on the Lord’s strength to get you through this battle; let Him fight for you.

    7. Matthew 11:28. (NLT)- “Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry
heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Cast all your cares on He who loves you (1 Peter 5:7)
and He will give you peace in this time of tribulation.

Though the road is not easy, you don’t have to travel all by yourself. Lean on the everlasting arms of
the One who loves and cares for you. He will bring you through this season of difficulty. He is your
    strength.

All of us at the Lutheran Media Ministry,  pray that all those who have the cancer will receive healing from God Almighty in Jesus’ Name.
