Faith, a celestial flame, ignites the human spirit, consuming the dross of doubt and illuminating the soul’s darkest recesses. As Scripture declares, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1). This fiery devotion, a divine endowment, demands constant tending.
Like the Israelites who wandered the desert, sustained by manna from heaven, we too are nourished by the Word of God. It is the fuel that feeds our spiritual fire, as it is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). Through prayer, we inhale the Spirit’s breath, fanning the embers of faith into a roaring conflagration. As James reminds us, “Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you” (James 4:8).
Let us not be satisfied with a mere spark, but rather aspire to a bonfire of faith that consumes obstacles, dispels darkness, and warms the hearts of those around us. For Christ himself is the ultimate embodiment of this consuming fire, as John testifies, “In him was life, and the life was the light of men” (John 1:4).

Our faith, a reflection of His glory, must burn brightly. Let us tend it with diligence, nourish it with Scripture, and fan it with prayer. As Paul exhorts, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you'” (Hebrews 13:5). In this promise, we find the ultimate fuel for our spiritual fire
