Dr. Rita Akwei Dental Surgeon, an Orthodontist Certified with Align Technology (INVISALIGN) Member, Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons has opined that tooth decay exposes one to chronic diseases such us diabetes, kidney and liver diseases and more. According to her, people who do not take case of their teeth have a high risk of getting infection they have no knowledge about.

The eloquent doctor who now works at the West Hills Dental and Braces Center located near Papaye Fast Food near the Westhills Shopping Mall, emphasized that parents should pay attention to the teeth of their children right from birth to give the children a health teeth throughout. She cited that some parents have the view that even if the baby’s teeth is bad, it would not affect the set of teeth that will replace them as the kids grow. According to her, that assertion is not entirely true.
She went on to condemn those who fix tooth braces for fashion and the level at which people are abusing it. She said braces are meant to solve a medical dental condition and not to prove wealth or used for fashion sense.
Dr. Akwei made all these revelations in an interview with Obaatanpa Radio 92.5 last Sunday on the Omo Tuo show, hosted by Dr. Dr. Ogboro Naghty DJ.
In conclusion She advised that brushing before bed is very important and that it helps a lot and also advised for regular dental check up.
