By faith in Christ as your Lord and Savior, know that you have everything you need. As the apostle Paul writes in Philippians 4:12-13: “I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.”

Have you ever wondered what it felt like for Jesus, to walk the earth and do His ministry and look forward to its ending at the cross? Here is one of the rare cases where we hear Him talking about His feelings. And the main thing He seems to feel is urgency

To get through it, well—I imagined much the same scenario that the writer of Hebrews describes in this passage. He says, “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the Founder and Perfecter of our faith.

So who is this, who is to be the center of my life, and take the place of all my idols and selfishness? It’s Jesus. Jesus, who is God Himself, who knows our sin and loved us enough to die for us just the same. Jesus, who rose from the dead so that we, too, might rise and live with Him forever—beloved children of God, standing in His council.

We will be opposed by many people who choose to reject Jesus as Lord. They may tell lies about us. They may try very hard to “make an end” of our faith on earth as believers around the world are threatened with imprisonment and death

The hope of our world lies in dutiful sons and daughters, who know the love of God in Jesus Christ, which excludes no one. Our Father is patient and kind toward people who daily wear out His patience and who, we might think do not deserve His kindness, either.

Finally, He has given us the Holy Spirit—the One who does for us what we cannot do for ourselves. He creates faith in us and helps us to cling to our Savior, trusting Him even in the darkest times.

They told you the rope wouldn’t break—but it was really, really hard getting up the courage to lean your whole weight on that rope and go over the edge that first time.
