God is always speaking to us in His holy Word. As we wait in silent trust for Him to answer our prayers, our mighty Lord is at work, as He always has been. As the psalmist says, God is our Rock and our Fortress

In many cultures, stories about life after death often depict a division. It is said that people will be divided up to receive either rewards or retribution, depending on whether they were virtuous or villainous in this life.

What is the rich man’s problem? He has a hard heart. Even in the afterlife, he can only see Lazarus as somebody to exploit—a servant to bring him water. God forbid we should be like that!

New Christians need time to grow up in their faith—time to be spiritual children, to make their mistakes in a safe environment, even to learn some things the hard way without being responsible for harming other people as well.

And that’s what Jesus tells us to do: use what we have, all our property, possessions, wealth, and resources to make friendships that will last forever—to prepare people for God’s coming Kingdom, to show them mercy in the name of Jesus.

‘Take your bill, and write eighty.’ The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation

Jesus gave His life for all the people of this world, dying to make us citizens of God’s kingdom—where we will live in joy and peace under our resurrected King.
